HTP Employer Charter - Our promise to you

HTP Training is an established work-based training company with a wealth of experience in designing and delivering high quality training solutions tailored to meet the needs of employers and individuals across the South of England.

The company was established in 2000 and now provides a wide range of consultancy and training services from the HTP professional development centres in Portsmouth, Newport and its training hotel and restaurant in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. Alternatively, training may be delivered at the client’s site or preferred training venue.

This page will help to explain your rights and obligations, what you can expect from us and what we expect from you as a customer and employer.

Mission Statement

HTP aims to raise participation and attainment through high quality training, particularly in the hospitality and service sectors, which meets the needs of learners and employers by developing innovative training solutions with its partners.

Our Aims

In order to achieve our mission and make our contribution to the local community HTP has set specific strategic objectives based around the needs of the employer. They are:

Increasing the engagement of employers in workforce development

  • To agree and implement a co-ordinated HTP workforce development strategy
  • To ensure HTP learning provision meets the needs of employers and their people

Raising the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of learning provision

  • To raise the quality of learning available through HTP
  • To develop the learning infrastructure

What you can expect from HTP:

  • We aim to contribute to the development of successful business enterprise within the local and regional economy by:
  • Identifying and meeting the training needs of employers by undertaking free organisational and training needs analysis and research of labour market information.
  • Designing and delivering bespoke, flexible training to meet employers’ needs
  • Building mutually beneficial positive relationships with employers across a wide range of vocational sectors.
  • Accurately referring employers to other training provision if HTP is unable to meet their requirements.

Prior to the start of your training we will:

  • Provide initial advice and guidance on the range of training services we are able to offer
  • Acknowledge your enquiry within two working days
  • Arrange for free organisational and training needs analysis to be conducted at your premises within two weeks of receiving your enquiry if required
  • Discuss requirements and resources for employees with additional support needs
  • Provide a written proposal and pricing guide in accordance with the identified training objectives

At the start of training we will:

  • Provide a comprehensive induction programme explaining essential information to you and your employees
  • Provide delegates with the opportunity to discuss issues and concerns prior to the commencement of the programme

Throughout the training programme we aim to provide all delegates with:

  • High quality training which takes into account individual needs and abilities, specific job skills and occupational competences
  • Facilitators, who set high professional standards, are committed to the promotion of learning and are competent and well qualified in their subject or vocational areas.
  • Regular reviews of progress, support and feedback on achievement to the delegate and employer.
  • A well managed and co-ordinated course that meets the expected outcomes.
  • Opportunities for delegates and employers to feedback their views on the course
  • A safe and healthy environment which complies with Health and Safety regulations.

In return we ask you, the employer to:

  • Support your employees throughout their course and provide assessment opportunities as appropriate
  • Encourage your employee to inform us of learning support needs
  • Ensure the venue meets Health and Safety standards when training takes place at your premises
  • Let us know if a delegates circumstances change if it impacts on their course or training
  • Contact us if you have any questions, concerns or complaints
  • Comply with agreed financial terms
  • Provide us with feedback on the training and services provided.

Complaints Procedure

Informal

We are committed to dealing with complaints speedily and at the point of delivery wherever appropriate. For this reason we would ask you to raise your complaint initially with the members of staff providing the service. If you feel this is not possible or appropriate we would ask you to raise the matter informally with the member of staff responsible for the service, normally a member of the Senior Management Team. Our reception staff will advise you who the most appropriate person to raise an informal complaint with.

Formal

In the event that you are dissatisfied with the response from an informal complaint or consider your complaint is too serious to be dealt with informally please address your complaint to the Managing Director verbally or in writing, clearly stating the facts as you perceive them.

Response to Formal Complaints

All formal complaints will be acknowledged within 2 working days and every effort will be made to reach a mutually satisfactory conclusion within 10 working days. Where this is not possible we will provide a progress report and an indication of the timescale for resolution of the complaint.
