Where do HTP offer Apprenticeships?

HTP can deliver Apprenticeship training throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. However, E2E is only offered on the Island and in the New Forest and Hairdressing is only available on the Island.

Am I eligible for an apprenticeship?

There are no formal entry requirements to start an Apprenticeship. You just need to be aged 16-24 and not already in full time education. As long as you start your apprenticeship before your 25th birthday you can continue until you have completed it.

How do I apply?

Here are several ways to apply for an Apprenticeship with HTP:

  2. Through your local Connexions Office or online at www.apprenticeshipsonline.org
  3. If you are already working, you can approach your employer to see if they willing support you to gain an Apprenticeship qualification.

How does the recruitment process work?

You will be initially interviewed by a member of HTP's team and asked to do undertake an assessment of your Numeracy and Literacy abilities. From there we work together to source a suitable work placement for you and again this will involve an interview with your prospective employer.

How long does an apprenticeship take?

The duration for an Apprenticeship will depend on the qualification you undertake. The programmes are flexible so you can work at your own pace. Typically, a Level 2 qualification will take 12 - 15 months and 12 - 18 months for a Level 3.

How will I be paid and how much?

It is possible you may start your training as a "non employed" apprentice. If this is the case you may be entitled to receive EMA (Educational Maintenance Allowance). Generally though your employer will pay your wages and this will not be less than £80 per week if you are aged 16-17 and for 18 year olds on their first year as an apprentice. After this national minimum wage guidelines will apply.

How many hours will I be expected to work?

As an apprentice your weekly working hours will not exceed 40 hours, this includes time spent in "off job training" at HTP.
