Training to a higher level

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

HTP recognises the importance of keeping parents and guardians informed about the child's future.

We run an "open door" policy and actively encourage parents to attend interviews along with their children if they wish to do so.

Every learner is assigned a training consultant and if at any stage of their training you require any information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What should my Child earn?

The amount of money a learner will earn will depend on the training programme they are on and the job they are doing.

Anyone on a pre apprenticeship programme such as E2E can apply to receive the Government's Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA). For more information on EMA click here.

Once employed the learner will either be paid an appropriate hourly rate for the job that they are doing which must equate to at least the minimum wage or if they are still in their training, an employer may choose to pay a "training allowance". This is currently set at £80 per week plus a reasonable contribution towards the cost of travel to and from work. At this level there is no tax or national insurance to be paid.
